Fire Safety Reminder - E-Bike Charging |
||
|
Residents may be aware of a recent fire on the Lockner Estate, N1, which is suspected to have been caused by an e-bike battery whilst charging.
Thankfully, incidents such as this are rare, but lithium-ion batteries used in e-bikes and e-scooters can present a serious fire risk if damaged, faulty, or charged incorrectly.
To help keep you, your family, and your neighbours safe, please follow this advice: Purchase batteries and chargers from reputable retailers and avoid counterfeit products.
If a lithium-ion battery catches fire, it can spread rapidly and produce large amounts of toxic smoke. Ensure your smoke alarms are working and that everyone in your household knows how to get out safely in the event of a fire.
If you have any concerns regarding fire safety on your estate, please contact your housing provider or local fire service for advice. | ||
